Lost Season 5

The epsiode starts off with a flashback to Dharam times. There appears to be a problem at the Orchid Construction site, and Dr. Pierre Chang (aka Dr. Hillowax, Marvin Candle, etc) must investigate. Also revealed to be working for Dharma... Daniel Faraday.

After the Island was moved, the surviving people start flashing through time. Locke is told bya future Richard that the only way to stop what's happening is to bring back the people that left. To do that he must go to the Orchidand move the Island again. And, he must die.

While flashing through time, we see the Island's past. The Others attack the Losties, killing almost all of them. We travel to the 1950s and find out the US Army was there with a hydrogen bomb, Jughead. Daniel Faraday actually saved the Island and told the Others to bury the H-Bomb. We also see the Virgin Mary Plane crash. And we get some backstory on Danille's arrival on the Island. She recued a very much alive Jin and Jin helped her find the radio tower before being attacked by the smoke monster. Apparently, the "sickness" she talks about resulted after her group of people went down to the smoke monster's lair underneath The Temple and were changed.

The time flashes finally stop after Locke goes down a well to turn the wheel. Unfortunately, time flashes claimed the life of Charlotte, who reveals he lived in Dharma when she was little and met Daniel while she was there. After Locke turns the wheel, the Losties end up in 1974, where they end up joining the Dharma Initiative. Sawyer, using the name LaFleur, has a prominant role in Dharma as head of security.

Locke gets off the Island and with Widmore's help, tires to convince everyone to go back, but fails. He attempts to comit suicide, but Ben tells him not to, before stangling him to death. He makes it look like suicide.

In 2007, Jack goes through trials to get everyone to go back. Jack, Sun, and Ben go see Daniel's mother, Eloise Hawking, to find out how to get back. They must get on Ajira 316 which will take them over the Island. They need to recreate Flight 815 the best the can for it to work. Sun wants to find her husband. Kate decides to go back to find Claire and reunite her with Aaron. Sayid is captured and is being transported to Gaum. And Hurley is convinced by Jacob to go back. Jack also brings Locke's body with him, with Christian's shoes on him to act as a replacement,

After reading Locke's suicide note on the plane, they hit turbulance and a bright light appears. The plane crashes on a runway on the Hydra Island, while Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid disappear. They are transported back to 1977, and Sawyer gives them jobs in Dharma.

But things don't go very well. Sayid is percieved to be a hostile. He is captured, but little Ben Linus lets him out. Sayid shoots him, and Ben is brought to the Temple where he is healed, and, at the same time, becomes the person he is today.

After Dharma folk find out about this, Sawyer and Juliet are in trouble. Jack and Kate have already left with Daniel to go to the Others with a plan to stop Oceanic 815 from crashing. They need the H-bomb to negate the energy released in the Incident to contain said energy. Then the hatch will never get built and their plane will never crash. After appearing to the Others, Eloise shoots and kills Daniel, not realizing it is her future son with Widmore. The Others agree to help.

The bomb is under the Temple, and Jack takes it to the Swan site. Though hesitant at first, the Losties aid him. He drops the bomb, but nothing happens. Just then, the Incident starts. All metalic objects go flying, and Juliet is caught in chains and dragged down into the hole. She is last seen detonating the bomb before Season 5 ends.

Back in 2007, Sun, Lapedius, Ben, and a resurrected Locke join forces with the Others. After Ben is judged by the smoke monster, Locke reveals his plan to Ben to kill Jacob. Richard leads Locke to Jacob, who lives in the four toed statue that used to be of the Egyptian Goddess Taweret. Jacob lives inside, and Locke manipulates Ben into killing Jacob. Before he dies, Jacob announces to Locke that "They're coming".

Jacob has previously visited all the Losties in their lives, and touched them as well. What could this mean? I'm not sure. But he is also revealed to have a nemesis who wants to find a loophole to kill him.

And when Illana and the other survivors of Ajira 316 reveal to Richard that Locke is actually dead and was inside a crate, it is revealed that Jacob's nemisis took on Locke's form to kill Jacob.

What does this mean for the rest of the series? We had two huge revelations and cliffhangers. Season 6 starts on Tuesday. Are you ready?

Lost- Burning Questions, Answered and Unanswered

It's 3 weeks late, but here you go! Let's take a look back at this season, and some of my "Top 3 Questions I want Answered" as well as many questions that remain unanswered.

1). Where the hell are Rose and Bernard- (most popular by far) Sawyer could not find Rose and Bernard after joining Dharma.(I actually don't think he tried to much). Well, Rose and Bernard were "retired" in the middle of jungle, along with Vincent. They plan to stay there till they die, quite possibly becoming Adam and Eve in the caves. All the other survivors are presumed to be dead by unknown forces.

2). What happened the night before they went back?- Jack and Sun went to Eloise Hawking and found out how to get back to the Island. They got tickets for a excirsion to Guam where they would cross into a window that would transport them back to the Island. Kate gave Aaron back to his grandma and told her she was going to find Claire. (Who will return for Season 6!) Hurley was in jail but was released, where he found Jacob in a taxi who gave him a guitar and told him to get on the plane to the Island. Sayid was arrested and brought back to Guam where he was to pay for Widmore's people he killed. Illana arrested him.

3). Where are the Oceaninc 6?- (After Ajiria landed) Jack, Kate and Hurley were in the jungle, but then joined Dharma where things got bad. Sayid was believed to be a Hostile and wss captured. Sun was in the present day along with the Ajiria people, Lapidus, Ben, and a preumably alive Locke. We're not sure why Sun and the rest of them are in the present and why the others are in th 70s.

4). Why did Ben kill Locke? How did locke come back to life?- After failing to get everyone back to the Island, Locke was going to kill himself. However, Ben stopped him, got info out of him, and killed him. Locke was brought on the Ajiria plane and was given Christian's shoes. But, Locke came back to life after the crash. However. Locke's body was taken over by Jacob's nemesis to kill him. We're still not sure on the details why or how it was done. Meanwhile, the real Locke is dead.

5). Is little Ben really dead?- No. He escaped with Sayid and possibly set that Dharma van on fire. Even though he was shot by Sayid, he was brought to be healed by the Others in the Temple. By doing this, he lost his innocence and would become the Ben we knew in the present.

6). What is inside the Temple?- The Temple is where Richard brought Ben to be healed. This is also the place where Jughead was kept. Inside the Temple is believed to be where the smoke monster resides. The Temple connects right to Ben's house, so it's easy for him to summon the monster. Still, there are many unanswered questions regarding the Temple.

7). Is Alex really dead or can ghosts kill people?- Alex is dead. The smoke monster could have appeared to Ben in the form of Alex. Or, Jacob's nemesis could have taken that form as well as John Locke's form to make sure he is able to kill Jacob. We are not certain.

8). Where was Daniel, why did he leave, and why did he come back?- Daniel was doing research off the Island. After he heard that Jack and the rest were back, he came back to warn them that they could die. He told them that he might be able to stop their plane from crashing which would cause their lives to be "normal". He went to his mother Eloise, who was an other and in a relationship with Charles Widmore, but she shot him by mistake. Her action would haunt her the rest of her life and she knew that she was going to kill her son.

9). Why would Locke want to kill Jacob?- That's not Locke. The reall John Locke is still dead, while the imposter is actually Jacob's nemesis who has wanted to kill Jacob for a very long time...

Well, that'a pretty much it. This is going to be my last official post in Season 5. For the next few weeks I will be sharing some of my Lost theories with you all until I finish watching Season 1 on DVD. Until then, here's questions I NEED to be answered:

Lost Season 5- Destiny Calls

Jack was suicidal. Locke was dead. Hurley was in the nut house. Sayid was a killer. Sun was a no-nonsense woman. Kate was a mommy. The Island had moved. And Ben was going to help Jack get back to the Island.

This is what we were into as we started Season 5, which, in this writer's opinion, was the best season since Season 1. I was fooled by what the writers siad the season would focus on. I knew it was about how the Oceanic 6 would return to the Island and what happened to the people who were left behind. But it was so much more then that.

The Island did move. But not only did it move to a new location, but to a new time period. Or periods actually. For a few days, the people who were left behind witnessed events that happened on the Island. The met Desmond in the hatch. They were attacked by unknown Ajira people. They met up with the Others to stop a hydrogen bomb from exploding. Heck, Locke even caused himslef to become leader of the Others in 2005. Juliette caused the hatch to be discovered.

Finnally, the flashing stoped after Christian explained that Locke needed to move the Island to stop the flashing. HE needed to turn the wheel, and that to get all of his friends back to the Island, he needed to die.

Well, he moved the Island, and things were back to normal. Well, sort of. Charlotte didn't make it, and ended up diying because of the flashes. Sawyer, Juliette, Daniel, and Miles were discovered by members of the Dharma Initiative because they were stuck in the 70s. Sawyer- taking on the name LaFluer- said he was looking for the Black Rock and was shipwrecked on the Island. They ended up joining Dharma, and Sawyer and Juliette started a relationship.

It's three years later on the mainland. Locke teamed up with Widmore, who was replaced as leader of the Others by Ben, to get his people bakc to the Island. When he failed, he tried to commit suicide, but was stopped by Bem. When BEn got good info out of Locke, he killed the poor man. This hepled get the Oceanic 6 back to the Island, after a long hard journey. Ben helped round Jack and Sun up, and they ventured to Eloise Hawking, who hepled them find the Island. Kate returned Aaron to his grandma, and went back to the Island to find Claire. Sayid was arrested and was going to Guam for a trial. And Hurley was busted out of jail by the one, the only- Jacob. They all boarded the Ajiria Flight 316 to "Guam".

After a long journey, there was a white flash, and Jack, Kate, Sayid, and Hurley was transported to the 70's. The Ajira people, along with Ben, Sun, and pilot Frank Lapedius crashed on the Island next to the Island (the one with the Hydra Station). Locke was revealed to be alive on the Island, but really wasn't. Jacob's nemisis, who most people are referring to as "Esau" from the Bible, somehow took over Lockes body, and the real Locke was dead. We met these two while they were watching the Black Rock sail into the Island, and Esau could not kill Jacob, but he could if he found a "loophole". Esau made Ben kill Jacob, who did not live in the cabin, but in the statue's foot.The Ajira people were also revealed to have some connection with the Island, for they knew what lied in the shadow of the statute.

In the 70's, Kate, Hurley, and Jack joined Dharma as well. Sayid did not, and was considered a hostile. He was captured by Dharma, but escaped and was able to shoot 12 year old Benjamin Linus. Ben didn't die though, because Kate and Sawyer brought him to the Others, who could save him, but also caused him to become the way he is today. Daniel =, who left the Island to do some Scientific Research, came back with the idea that they could stop the Incident, which wouldn't make their plane crash. To do this, they would use the Hydrogen Bomb that the Others burried in the 50's. They went to the Others for help, but Eloise, who was an Other in that time period, shot him.

The Others eventually teamed up with the Losties, just as Dr. Pierre Chang learned that the new Dharma recruits were from the future, and that a catostrophic event would occur. He orderd the evacuation of the Island, making his mother and his infant son, Miles leave for their own safety.

Using the famous saying from Season 1 "Live Together, Die Alone", everyone worked with Jack to drop the Hydrogen bomb. When they did drop it, nothing happened. Then the drill hit the electromegnetics, and metal from all over was sucked into the hole. Chains wrapped around Juliette, and he was also sucked into the hole, but she was able to tell Sawyer how much she loved him first. Juliette was miraculously alive at the bottom of the pit, right next to the hydrogen bomb. She hit it with a rock, and it exploded. There was a flash of light, revealing the LOST letters to be black.

And with that, the penultimate season of Lost ended in the classic Lost format- answering a few questions, but asking many more.

"The Incident": What lies in Store for our Friends?

No, I didn't forget about the GH Weekly Roundup. I'm sorry for those of you who like to read that column, but never fear, it'll be up again next Monday. I purposely did not post the column because I wanted to keep Lost readers in suspense, much like the season finale.

In 2 hours, a lot can and will happen on Lost. And even more happens when it is the season finale. Plus, let's not forget it was the penultimate finale in the series. So it's no wonder why I only had time to recap the show, and not add much of my commentary.

Let's start with the whole Jacob thing. Jacob, whoever the hell he is, has been a huge factor in the lives of the Losties. He's had some sort of control oover them, as if he was a god of some sort. Plus. he never ages, or dies.

Wait a minute, he may have died. I don't know. See, Locke (possibly engulfed by the guy in black we saw in the opening scene) had Ben kill him after Jacob more or less humiliated him. "What about you?". Wow. What a way to hurt a person. So Ben stabbed him, and Locke pushed Jacob into the fire. But how could Jacob be dead, especially when we just met him?

And more importantly, how can our beloved Man of Faith, John Locke, be dead? Was he wrong about destiny? Was he wrong about the Island? Judging from what next season is being tagged "Destiny Found", I doubt it. But I really want Locke to live. Please writers, please.

And what about the flash? Did it cause the Incident, stop it, what? Is Juliette dead?

I always end my Lost columns with the Top 3 Questions I want Answered. This week will be different. Throughout my column, I have been more or less asking questions. So, I will end with something different: a scheduel.

Lost is over until next January. So what will I do over the summer and the fall? Well, the fall is ususally when Lost trailers, spoilers, and scenes start making thier way on the internet. So I will contimue to keep you posted every Thursday on these matters.

"The Incident"

Wow. Just wow. Last night's episode was everything you'd expect in a Lost finale. There were casualties. New characters were introduced. And it all led up to some shocking revalations, as well as a huge cliffhanger. So, in the words of Eloise Hawking... "Let's Get Started".

In the first scene, we see 2 people watching the Black Rock sail to the Island. Keep in mind one of them is wearing white, and the other one is wearing black. This brings us back to the whole Good vs. Bad thing. Of course, the good person is none other than... JACOB! The evil person is not yet known. But it is revealed that Jacob cannot die, no matter how much the other guy wants to kill him. He can only kill Jacob if he finds a loophole. Very interesting...

Through flashbacks, we see that Jacob has had very important impacts on everyone's life. He helped Kate when she stole. He helped Hurley and Sayid get back to the Island. He helped Jack after that surgery that went wrong. He helped Sawyer write the leetter to Mr. Sawyer. And he helped Locke live after he fell 11 stories.

Kate, Sawyer, and Juliette left the sub to save everyone on the Island. Once they were back, the finally met up with Rose and Bernard. They are happily "retired" living in the jungle and truly happy. It was a very touching scene. It's also a good way to introduce them, or write them out of the show. Whatever happens, they will be happy, even if they do die and become "Adam and Eve" in the caves.

Richard and Elosie left Sayid and Jack to do their thing with the bomb, but were attacked by Dharma people. But, Hurley and the rest came to rescue them.Even though they're rescued, Sayid is shot, and it doesn't look good for him. Finally, all of the Losties are reunited, and even though they don't see eye to eye, they live by the famous line "Live Together, Die Alone." They follow Jack to the Swan area and save him from the Dharma folk. He then throws the Hydrogen bomb into the hatch.

Now, before we finish the story of the 1977 Island, let's flash to the Island in current time. Locke is carrying out his plan to kll Jacob, and puts Ben in charge of the mission. But the Ajiria people have thier own plansand discover a disturbing secret in a crate. They obviously now about the Island, and approach Richard and ask him "What lies in the Shadow of the Statue?" he responds in a different language. Alana later shows what's inside the container- a dead John Locke.

But someone lives in the statue. And for those of you ho want to know, that statue was of Taweret, the Ancient Egyptian goddess of evil, who became the goddess of children and pregnancy. Jacob lives inside there, and when he sees Locke, he asks him if he found his loophole. WTH! Ben confronts Jacob about the way he treated him, and Jacob simply replies "What about You?" Angrily, Ben kills Jacob and Locke pushed him in the fire.

Now, back to the Swan sitch- nothing happens after the bomb is dropped, except for the Incident. The energy is released, and all te metal things around them are pulled into a hole, including Juliette, who is caufght in metal chains. Before plumiting down the hole, she tells Sawyer she loves him, and falls. Oh, and Phil is also killed, but really- who cares? But Juliette is not dead- yet. She's at the bottom of the pit, and she sees the hydrogen bomb. She takes a rock and keeps banging at it. Finally, it explodes, and there's a huge flash... and then...

LOST- the title appears, but in reverse- the letters are in black while the backround is white, leaving us on a major cliff hanger. And so will this post...

Are You Ready for "The Incident"?

We've heard about it since Season 2. Perhaps one of the biggest questions that fans have asked will be covered tonight, in the Season 5 Finale of Lost.

The penultimate season has been absolutely great, and it's going out with a bang! Tonight, Jack plans to stop the Incident from happening, which started a chain of reactions that caused Oceaninc Flight 815 to crash on the Island. Will he succede, or will he possibly cause the Incident?

Locke is going to give Ben a hard task. Will he have to kill Jacob? Why? Will we possibly see Jacob tonight?

Will we finally find out where Rose and Bernard, et al are?

"The Life and Death of Jeremey Bentham"

For those who do not know, Jeremey Bentham was a philosopher. Johne Locke was, too.

No, I'm not talking about the bald guy from Lost. These people existed in real life, and it's pretty interesting that the survivor who knows most about the island is named John Locke, and takes on the name Jeremy Bentham when he leaves the island.

Poor, poor Locke. He wants nothing more then to save everyone, and give them a good life. But each time he goes to one of the Oceanic 6, he is slapped in the face. Jack owes a big thanks to Locke, and when they're reunited on the island, better treat him like a king.

Is John still in fact a king? I mean, he died, but is now alive again. Could the island not let him die? It's clearer then ever before that Locke is, indeed, "special".

And while we're talking about the death of Jeremy Bentham, lets talk about Widmore and Ben. Towards the end of Season 4, I began to like Ben. I was on his side. I felt bad for him when his daughter died, and wanted him to kill Keamy. But now, it seems like Widmore is on Locke's side. I believed him until Ben told Locke not to kill himself. But then, he goes right over and strangles him. Why? I have no idea, but we might find out in the coming weeks what is going on in Ben's sick mind.
