My friends, dear readers, and compassionate people from around the world...
I write this post to show you the devastation in Haiti. Although I'm sure you don't need this blog to inform you about what's going in Haiti. But it couldn't hurt relay the message more...
On January 13, 2010, Haiti was the sight of a severly destructive 7.0 earthquake. Aftershocks are still continuing to gripe the already weakened nation. The poor nation could not afford a disaster like this. And yet, it happened, testing all the people in the world.
At times like this, we must put aside our differences and come together. When something like this happens, no matter where in the world, we prove to each other and ourselves we are ready to help fellow men, women, and children who desperately need the essientials.
Many of you are sending supplies, like water, crackers, matches, and clothes forthe Haitians. And it is so incredibly thoughtful. But, the fact of the matter is that there is no way to distribute these supplies. What is needed is MONEY.
Please, consider donating as much as you can to one of these causes/funds:
Click Here for a complete list
American Red Cross
Clinton Bush Haiti Fund
Save the Children
Please consider sending a text donation. Simply text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts. This will be charged to your monthly cell phone bill. Many cell phone comapanies are waiving the text fees for this, so please consider going this route!
Please consider giving blood. In times of disaster, it's very important for blood banks to get donations. There are blood drives going on all over the country and world. Blood is needed, please consider donating. Also, keep those affected in your prayers. Prayer is truly a powerful thing, and. An get all of us through trying times.
I thank you. The people around you thank you. But most importantly, the Haitians thank you.
God bless you all.
-PirateGuy.
